Ask me anything

Basically just to a quick post to update you on the awesome situation I now find myself in.

Exams are over and now I can get back to living happily, which by the way I already have.

Exams went quite well and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the few days of sun we got. I think I may be tanned, a quick preview of the weather I’ll be likely to receive in Florida, I’m going in a week and I can’t wait.

I was at Slam Dunk Glasgow tonight and I saw Motion City Soundtrack, one of my all time favourite bands, play some of my favourite songs. It was pretty special.

I guess you could say that life is good. In fact no guessing: Life is good.

I got my hair cut

Never really appreciated this book as much when I first read it but now that I think about it and re-read it I’m starting to think it’s one of the greatest books of all time.

I really enjoy studying it which is making Higher English that tiny bit easier for me.

It’s so clever, well written, powerful and it gives a better insight into the flaws of American society than any other book I’ve ever read

If only all the poor souls in search of the American Dream had read this before they wasted their time.

The last page is particularly inspiring.

The message is open to interpretation and without spoiling the book I urge you to read it, if you haven’t already, and tell me what it speaks to you about and what you thought of it.

Gave my page a complete redecoration, take a look if it pleases you,

It’s a nice change

Anonymous asked: What are your top 5 albums of all time?

This is a really, really difficult question for me to answer. I have no idea of the order but it would probably include; Kid A, OK COMPUTER, The Wall, The Devil and God are Raging inside of me and maybe something by Bon Iver. (Alexisonfire and In The Aeroplane Over The Sea are high up to, Along with Motion City Soundtracks debut ‘I am the Movie’. I also feel like ‘The Bends’ and ‘Amnesiac’ deserve a look in.)

All in all its too hard a question to answer since it changes all the time, but there’s a rough idea of the main contenders.

My top five favourite albums as of right now:

1. The Satellite Years                           - Hopesfall

2. High Violet                                      - The National

3. Alexisonfire                                     - Alexisonfire

4. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea       - Neutral Milk Hotel

5. OK COMPUTER                                - Radiohead

I acknowledge the presence of emo/post-hardcore in this selection and put it down to a phase I’m going through.

I stress to you that this isn’t my all time favourites list, but if you’re stuck for something to check out, heres what I recommend right now.

Enjoy

I love this record

So here we go again.

Another year of my life is over and I’m now 17.

it’s scary how fast the years have went past, seems like a few months ago i was starting Standard Grades, and a fortnight before that starting secondary school.

I don’t really feel older, I think I’ll have to finally start accepting that I’m not a kid anymore though… it’s a daunting prospect.

Anyway, I hope the 28th March 2012 found you well and I’d like to wish you a pleasant rest of week, month, year and life.

From a seventeen year old boy to the rest of the world;

Enjoy the sunshine.

(I apologise for the super loud slide noises- one of the many drawbacks of being rubbish at playing guitar)

Justin Vernon/Bon Iver

This man and his music is inspiring. When he won two awards at The Grammys his speech was so humble. He mentioned how he was uncomfortable to be there because he knew that so much great music existed out with the narrow scope that is The Grammy’s. He is an inspiration and someone I’d like to meet just to shake his hand.

Nicki Minaj was most definitely not robbed.
